I have been appointed CIRPA’s representative for the UK and EU. With this post, I am responsible for fostering the interests of CIRPA’s membership in Europe, through the entity ‘Music Export Canada’. In addition, I will be working independently with bands, labels, management agencies and other entities to preserve and foster their business interests abroad, to promote Canadian Music.
Mandate:
- To enable artists to book, arrange and promote tours in UK and EU.
- To encourage artists to seek distribution and act as a networking tool to help engender it.
- To link up companies with similar agencies in the UK.
- To act as an information database, an a la carte consultancy and entity that preserves, develops and fosters Canadian Music in Europe.
- Respond to all needs, regardless of genre, style or level.
- Promote grassroots initiatives through an extensive listings site, social networking, blogging, email newsletters, RSS feeds etc…
- Assist Canadian artists with information towards preparing immigration paperwork.
- Linkage with European festivals, pitching to sync and licensing agencies and record labels.
Each project is different, so please get in touch immediately if assistance is required in terms of thinking about and pursuing UK and EU infrastructure development.
